The World Youth Day Lisbon 2023 theme song was released ton 27th January.

The song “Há Pressa no Ar” (There's a rush in the air), the theme song of the World Youth Day Lisbon 2023, is inspired by the motto of the encounter: “Mary rose up and went with haste” (Lc 1 , 39). It's inspired by the 'yes' of Our Lady to God and her rush to meet her cousin Elizabeth, who was also with child, as told in the Gospel of Luke.

The lyrics of “Há Pressa no Ar” have been written by the priest João Paulo Vaz and the music composed by Pedro Ferreira, teacher and musician, both from the diocese of Coimbra. The musical arrangements were made by the musician Carlos García.

The song was recorded in two versions: one in Portuguese and the international version in five languages: Portuguese, English, Spanish, French and Italian.

“Young people from all over the world are invited to identify with Our Lady, when singing this song, offering themselves to serve, to the mission and to the transformation of the world. The lyrics also evoke the celebration of WYD and the joy centered on the relationship with God. ” Says the statement of WYD Lisbon 2023.

According to the WYD calendar, the Lisbon edition would have to be held in 2022 but it has been postponed for a year due to the pandemic.

The scores for download are available on the official website of WYD Lisbon.
