Members of associations of the Teresian Association (TA) in Spain (ACIT and MIT) collaborate with the TA-supported NGO for Development InteRed in the campaign "Let's make an Alliance for Education." These entities have the same vision and mission on social transformation through education and humanizing actions to build a more just and united society, recognizing the dignity and human rights of each person.

Mercedes Ruiz-Giménez, a member of the official Spanish delegation at the 70th General Assembly of the United Nations, in her capacity as President of the Coalition of NGOs for Development, reflects on what happened at the Assembly and analyzes the challenges facing humanity in the coming years to achieve the so-called Agenda 2030.   She suggests an integrated approach to international policy, the implementation of national plans, as well as international policies aimed at meeting the objectives of Sustainable Development.

On Sunday May 31, a healthcare Center opened in the town of Codao, in the area of Peumo, Chile, to serve families in need. It is a social project of the Teresian Association in this country of America.

The Indian Kurta Project for solidarity clothing has been registered as a non-profit organization and legalized business in Spain and Europe.  The aim is to increase the sale of products and thus develop the project that started in India in 2008 to respond to the need for training, development and empowerment of rural women in Honavar coastal area, in the Southern state of Karnataka.

Maria Mercedes Mesa presents her first novel in Miami. Since leaving Cuba in 1965, Maria de las Mercedes Mesa has dreamed of writing a novel “to share the wealth of experience that I bring with me." Finally, she has succeeded.  On May 2 she presented a novel of 482 pages entitled: “Un ingenio cubano: historias amores y sueño” (A Cuban sugar mill: loves, and dreams).


JAÉN, Spain.
On April 29, at Cathedral Square in Jaén, an emotional ceremony was held in memory of the recently deceased immigrants in the Mediterranean Sea as they tried to arrive in Europe. The event was organized by Jaen’s Rajab Project, the Secretariat for Migration, HOAC, Jaén “Acoge,” Amnesty International, and other organizations. Santander Cathedral hosts an exhibition of paintings, "The Interior Castle," by Maria Teresa Martínez Ugalde. The exhibition was inaugurated with a poetic-musical gala last Thursday April 16. It will remain open until May 3.
