Twenty years of work in the promotion of the right to a quality and inclusive education; of children access to education; of literacy for youth and adults; of teacher’s training, and of empowering women, through education and training, to improve their economic and social opportunities.

We have spent 20 years…

  • Collaborating in the transformation of today’s socio-economic reality, which generates injustice, and fighting against poverty, inequality and exclusion, through socio-educative processes.
  • Working with indigenous people, rural communities, students with special needs, and poverty stricken children and adults, especially women.
  •  Guiding our formative activities to basic education, teacher and vocational training, promotion of children rights and gender equity.

To carry on these tasks

We have conducted over 1,000 development projects in 16 Latin-American, Asian and African countries, with the support of the “Agencia Española de Cooperación Internacional para el Desarrollo” (AECID) which values the experience and quality of the work of InteRed. We have obtained seven Agreements of International Cooperation and two of Education for Development.

 We have expanded our geographical presence and, today, we have 11 delegations in Spain and 6 in other countries (Guatemala, Dominican Republic, Peru, the Philippine Islands, Bolivia and the United Kingdom). We also belong to 17 ONGD Coordinating Agencies of international, state, autonomic and local scope.
We have promoted education campaigns for development that, encouraging the social commitment of the Spanish citizens, have favored our position as NGO of development, specialized in education, with focus on Human Rights and gender equity.

 We have increased the number of supporting members and donors since 1995 and trained more than 2.500 people through our courses and work-shops on volunteering. {jathumbnail off}

“ To celebrate 20 years of life is quite a symbol, it is to recognize that small living germs grow when there are goals and collective endeavour. In 1992 the Teresian Association decided to have a significant presence in the area of International Cooperation through the NGO for development InteRed, counting on decades of experience in socio-educative projects in Africa, Latin-America and Asia”

Mª Luz Renuncio Duque, President of  "Patronato de InteRed"

“Human beings, civil society are those who can make possible “other world”, and for this, education is an unquestionable means that InteRed has made its sign of identity”

Marga Usano. Founder of InteRed

“We believe in the transforming power of education, capable of building inclusive and just societies”
