Madrid: Christian responses to the refugee situation


MADRID, Spain.
"I was a stranger and you welcomed me" (Matthew 25: 35). The Pentecost Ecumenical Forum has convened a round table for November 12 on the occasion of the arrival of Syrian refugees and immigrants in Madrid. Everyone of good will is welcome to attend the round table. 

The concerns and actions that are being raised by both the Roman Catholic Church, through the Bureau of Diocesan Hospitality, and the Federation of Evangelical Religious Entities of Spain will be discussed at the round table. The Syro-Orthodox Church and its current community in Madrid will share their testimony.

The Pentecost Ecumenical Forum has officially delegates and members from the following: Spanish Evangelical Church, Evangelical German-speaking Church, Spanish Reformed Episcopal Church (Anglican Communion), Orthodox Metropolis of Spain and Portugal, St George Anglican Church, Roman Catholic Church (Archdiocese of Madrid - Delegation of Interfaith Relations and Diocesan Commission for Justice and Peace), Discalced Carmelite Order (Castilla-Province), Missionaries for Unity, International Ecumenical Fellowship, Ecumenical and Inter-religious Carmel, Ecudir Group (Teresian Association), Focolare Movement, Aid to the Church in Need, and the Community of Sant 'Egidio.
