This meeting, which will involve young representatives of Episcopal Conferences from the world and Associations and Movements, is aimed at giving young people the opportunity to present proposals to the Synodal Fathers, who will meet in Assembly in October 2018 with the theme "Young people, faith and vocational discernment".
Clara Colmenero, from Jaén, Spain, will represent the Teresian Association (TA) on this occasion. She is a student majoring in mathematics at the University of Málaga and member of TA Youth.
Marina Sampayo, from Barcelona, participated last year at the International Meeting "From Krakow to Panama. The Synod on the way with young people," in Rome, from April 5-9, 2017. Sofía Liberto, from León, who lives and works in Madrid, has participated along with 40 other young people in the Seminar called "Dialogue with Youth on Pastoral Issues," centering on Discernment. The Department of Youth Ministry of the Spanish Episcopal Conference, organized this on January 27-28, 2018 in Valladolid.
In the pre-synodal meeting, young people will generate a document in which they express their point of view about reality, their ideas, their feelings and their proposals. There will be around 300 young people representing the youth from the five continents.
Everyone may participate
Since it desired that young people from all over the world may be involved as much as possible, those who do not physically participate in the pre-synodal meeting can also join those in Rome. Through social media, everyone is invited to participate in their collective story and make their voices heard, so that the fruits of the pre-synodal Meeting are an expression, as much as possible, of all the youth.
Information on how to participate may be found at http://www.synod2018.va/content/synod2018/en/pre-synodal-meeting.html
