The film POVEDA was screened again in Dominican Republic. It was during Catholic Book Fair, held every two years and organized by Cursillo Movement. The screening took place on March 25 in the auditorium of Casa San Pablo. The film was the only one chosen to be presented at this event, which is aimed at disseminating publications by Catholic publishers and authors.
The Bishop of Guadix, Monsignor Ginés García Beltrán, sent a message to the Teresian Association in his diocese on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of the priestly ordination of Saint Pedro Poveda.
The Spanish book titled “Las páginas más bellas de Josefa Segovia,” (The most beautiful pages of Josefa Segovia), coordinated by María Rosa Elosúa de Juan and published by Fonte Monte Carmelo, is ready for purchase.
With the title "Migrants and refugees in the current European context. From the problem to opportunity," the Council for Culture of the Teresian Association organized a seminar of study and reflection, held at Padre Poveda “Colegio Mayor” in Madrid. Mística y Profecía is the title of a digital book that collects the proceedings of the American and Caribbean Congress of Theology and Spirituality in celebration of the V Centenary of the Birth of St. Teresa of Avila. It was published at the end of 2016 by Editorial de autores de Argentina. Download of the book is free.
The Commission of theologians of the Teresian Association in America wish to contribute their reflection on to documents of Pope Francis. Their work is an invitation to continue to deepen into them and find new perspectives.
On Wednesday, March 29, Encarnita Gonzalez, postulator general of the Teresian Association, will give a presentation on "Josefa Segovia on the way to beatification. On the 60th anniversary of her death."
Several times a year the doors of Espace Poveda (Poveda’s Space) of the Teresian Association in Paris open to a proposal that they have called "Repas qui prend son temps" (Meals without haste).
After three years of study, on February 18, the graduation of 16 participants in the Second Course on Theological Biblical Formation took place in Holguin. The course was taught by Carmen Aparicio Valls, Theology Professor at the Pontifical Gregorian University of Rome, with the support of Araceli Cantero in matters of spiritual integration. The course has received academic support from members of the Teresian Association and logistic support from San Arnoldo Janssen Center for the Formation of the Laity of the Diocese of Holguín, which was the location for the face-to-face meetings and the graduation ceremony.
NAZARETH / BETHLEHEM, Holy Land.
In addition to Jerusalem, the film POVEDA has been screened in Nazareth and Bethlehem on February 10th and 11th. The three events were a privileged opportunity to make St. Pedro Poveda better known, and to go over the beginnings of the Teresian Association in the land of Jesus.
The English version of the new website dedicated to Saint Pedro Poveda was published at the beginning of 2017, www.pedropoveda.org/en.
The parish communities of Our Lady of the Pine and St. Agnes, both in Villaverde Alto, Madrid, agreed to show the film POVEDA. The event took place on January 15 in a room of the St. Agnes Parish. More than a hundred people arrived, surpassing the predicted expectations.
